Sekundarni jezik: Angleški jezik
Sekundarni naslov: The comparison of family types in fairy tales by brothers Grimm and H. C. Andersen
Sekundarni povzetek: The present thesis entitled The Comparison of Family Types in Fairy Tales by Brothers Grimm and H. C. Andersen consists of two parts: the theoretical and the empirical part. The first part is a brief summary of opuses and biographies of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen, followed by a section describing several different definitions of families and family types. The second part is an analysis of ten fairy tales by brothers Grimm: The Frog King, or Iron Henry, Little Brother and Little Sister, Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, Little Snow-White, Rumpelstiltskin, The Golden Goose, All-Kinds-Of-Fur, The Three Little Birds and The True Bride; and ten fairy tales by Andersen: Jack the Dullard, The Wild Swan, The Ugly Duckling, The Little Mermaid, The Girl Who Trod on the Loaf, The Gardener and the Noble Family, Little Tiny or Thumbelina, The Elf of the Rose, The Travelling Companion and The Swineherd. I chose those among the fairy tales in which the family motif is most pronounced. Each fairy tale is analysed in terms of summary, main characters, as well as life and relations within the families. According to the characteristics of the main characters, I also assigned a family type to each fairy tale. After completing the analysis of individual tales,I compared the fairy tales by brothers Grimm with those by Andersen with the emphasis on family types and relations between family members.

Izbrala sem tiste pravljice, kjer motiv družine izstopa.
