Sekundarni povzetek: It is important for teachers that are involved in the educational process, and interact with pupils and their parents, to have pedagogical authority. When teachers have authority in the classroom, the pedagogical process is more efficient and of a higher quality. Having authority in the classroom also helps teachers to form better relations and mutual respect on the teacher-pupils-parents level. It is important that teachers have a »healthy« ammount of authority, and that they use it in such a way that helps their students become active and responsible individuals. One has to be aware that there are a lot of different factors involved in forming teacher's authority in the classroom. In my thesis I have researched and presented various factors that help form teachers' authority in the classroom. Furthermore, I have also researched the different views that teachers and pupils have on authority, and made a comparison. I have researched how teachers and pupils percieve authority and which factors are the most important – which factors raise teachers' authority in the classroom, and which factors lower it. I have researched which traits most accurately describe a teacher that has authority in the classroom. I gathered my data in May, 2014, I handed out questionnaires in various primary schools in Slovenia. I used two different questionnaires, one made for pupils and the other for teachers. The questionnaires were handed out to pupils of 8th and 9th grades and to teachers on the lower secondary level. 148 people participated, 64 teachers and 84 pupils. The statistical analysis has shown that teachers and pupils percieve authority in different ways. It is important for pupils that a teacher is strict, kind and entertaining, and being consistent, fair, respectful, honest and professional is what is important for teachers. Furthermore, in the pupils' view, the teachers' authority consists of: successfully organising lectures, effective collaboration with pupils and accepting different kinds of pupils, being assertive, succesfully resolving unexpected situations. The teachers' view is that authority consists of teaching consistency, fair assessment, respectful attitude, trusting one's ability etc. The teachers' answers have shown that the most important factor in forming authority in the classroom is »teaching consistency«. The same factor also increases authority. The characteristics that most accurately describe a teacher with authority in the classroom (teachers' opinion) are: respect, having a strong personality, being knowledgeable. The most important characteristics in pupils' views are: having good intentions, respect, relaxed and friendly attitude towards pupils. I have also discovered that important statistical differences occur between teachers' and pupils' views, that is why I can conclude that teachers and pupils have different views regarding teachers' authority in the classroom.
