Sekundarni povzetek: | The diploma thesis describe animal-assisted interventions, more precisely, the significance of animal-assisted interventions for strengthening of social skills. Theoretical part includes a detailed presentation of the benefits of therapeutic dog in work with vulnerable populations. I focused on delimitation of the term animal-assisted interventions which includes animal-assisted therapy and animal-assisted activity and the differences and similarities between them. I continued with therapeutic benefits of animals. Despite many positive effects of animal-assisted interventions I devoted the next chapter to the problems and possible obstacles which we may face in animal-assisted intervention. The last part of the theoretical work relates to social skills and the significance of the animal-assisted interventions for their strengthening. In the empirical part I used qualitative research, a semi-structured interview which I substantiated by participant observation with the aim to find out what is the role of animal-assisted interventions in strengthening social skills of children with difficulties in social integration. Results indicate that animal-assisted interventions have a big role in developing social accomplishments. The presence of therapeutic dogs increase openness of users to gain new experiences that can be generalised in their everyday lives. |
