Povzetek

Dobra komunikacija je temelj kvalitetnega odnosa medicinske sestre s svojci. Medicinske sestre se pri vsakodnevnem delu srečujejo s svojci, ki jih zanima stanje pacienta. Pri podajanju informacij svojcem se pojavijo pravne in etične dileme s strani medicinske sestre, saj le ta lahko poda informacije, ki se tičejo le zdravstvene nege in oskrbe pacienta, za kar je lahko medicinska sestra tudi kazensko, odškodninsko in moralno odgovorna. Namen raziskave je predstavitev odgovornosti in kompetenc medicinske sestre pri podajanju informacij pacientovim svojcem ter ugotovitev vzroka nepravilnosti podajanja informacij svojcem pacienta s strani medicinske sestre. V raziskovalnem delu smo uporabili kvantitativno metodologijo. Najprej smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela, ki je zajela pregled in analizo literature, iskanje literature po bazah podatkov in knjižnicah. Za raziskovalni inštrument smo uporabili delno strukturiran anketni vprašalnik, ki je zajemal 19 vprašanj. Uporabljen je bil naključni vzorec (n = 302) iz treh slovenskih bolnišnic. Podatki so bili zbrani, analizirani in predstavljeni s pomočjo programov Microsoft Office Word 2010, Excel 2010, IBM SPSS 20.0 ter spletno stranjo www.1ka.si. Raziskava je pokazala, da 51 % anketirancev podaja informacije svojcem, katere niso v njihovi pristojnosti, bodisi zaradi odsotnosti zdravnika, pritiska s strani svojcev (predvsem zaradi nerazumevanja informacij, negotovosti svojcev, strah svojcev pred zdravniki) ali po navodilu zdravnika. Prav tako je bilo z raziskavo potrjeno, da se medicinske sestre, ki posredujejo informacije pacientovim svojcem o njihovem zdravstvenem stanju, večkrat znajdejo v etičnih dilemah od sester, ki le teh ne posredujejo. V raziskavi je bilo ugotovljeno, da je v Sloveniji premalo literature o kompetencah in odgovornostih medicinskih sester, ter da si večina (98 % anketirancev) medicinskih sester želi, da bi natančno opredelili, katere so pristojnosti medicinske sestre pri podajanju informacij ter da bi bilo le to dosegljivo na vpogled vsem medicinskim sestram. Po mnenju anketirancev je v Sloveniji na temo podajanja informacij svojcem premalo dosegljive literature, potreba je po natančnejši opredelitvi pristojnosti medicinske sestre pri podajanju informacij svojcem.

Sekundarni povzetek: Good communication is the foundation of a quality relationship between a nurse and relatives. In their day-to-day work, nurses come into contact with relatives interested in a patient’s condition. When giving information to relatives, ethical and legal dilemmas arise for a nurse. A nurse may only give information pertaining to patient care. By giving relatives information, a nurse can also incur criminal and moral liability and be held liable for damages. The goal of the research is to present the responsibilities and competencies of a nurse when giving information to a patient’s relatives and to determine the causes of improprieties in the transmission of information from a nurse to the patient’s relatives. A quantitative methodology was used in the research work. First, a descriptive method of work was used. It encompassed an overview and an analysis of literature and a search for literature in databases and at libraries. A partially structured survey questionnaire was used as a research instrument. The questionnaire contained 19 questions. A random sample (n = 302) from three Slovenian hospitals was used. The following programs were used to collect, analyse and present the data: Microsoft Office Word 2010, Excel 2010, IBM SPSS 20.0 and the website www.1ka.si. The research showed that 51% of those surveyed give relatives information that does not fall under their competencies due to the doctor’s absence and pressure from relatives (which arises primarily because information was poorly understood and/or because of relatives’ uncertainty and fear of doctors) or under instructions from a doctor. The research also confirmed that nurses who give information to patients’ relatives about a patient’s condition face ethical dilemmas more frequently than nurses who do not share this information. The research uncovered a lack of literature in Slovenia about the competencies and responsibilities of nurses and found that most (98% of respondents) nurses would like a detailed description of nurses’ competencies when giving information. They would also like this information to be made accessible so all nurses could view it. In the respondents’ opinion, too little literature is available on giving information to relatives, and there is a need for a more concise delineation of the competencies of nurses in giving information to relatives.
