Povzetek
Namen diplomskega dela je bil z mehanokemijsko metodo sintetizirati kovinske halkogenide, in sicer aluminijev sulfid, aluminijev selenid, galijev(III) sulfid ter galijev(III) selenid. Najprej smo z rentgensko praškovno difrakcijo analizirali reaktante, nato pa smo izbrane kovinske halkogenide poskušali sintetizirati z mehanokemijsko metodo (mletjem). Po končani sintezi smo vse produkte analizirali z rentgensko praškovno difrakcijo.
Rentgenska analiza je pokazala, da z mehanokemijsko metodo dobimo prav vse spojine (Al2S3, Al2Se3, Ga2S3 in Ga2Se3). Najlepše difraktograme z najintenzivnejšimi piki pa smo dobili pri galijevih sulfidih in selenidih, iz katerih je resnično razvidno da gre za produkt Ga2S3 in Ga2Se3. Ugotovili smo, da je mehanokemijska metoda primerna za sintezo kovinskih halkogenidov, in sicer Al2S3, Al2Se3, Ga2S3 in Ga2Se3.
Na koncu smo še preverjali obstojnost produkta Al2S3 in Al2Se3, in sicer smo produkt Al2S3 po različnih časovnih presledkih (po 14-ih dneh in po dveh mesecih) dali na rentgensko analizo. Produkt Al2Se3 pa smo analizirali s termogravimetrično analizo. Po končani termogravimetrični analizi smo produkt analizirali še z rentgensko praškovno difrakcijo. Rezultati kažejo, da sta oba produkta neobstojna, saj sta razpadla.

The aim of this diploma thesis was to synthesise metal chalcogenides, namely aluminium sulphide, aluminium selenide, gallium(III) sulphide and gallium(III) selenide, by using mechanochemistry. First we analysed the reactants with the help of X-ray diffraction, and then we tried to synthesise the metal chalcogenides by the method of mechanochemistry (miling). After the completion of the synthesis, all the products were analysed by X-ray diffraction.
X-ray diffraction showed that the use of mechanochemistry enabled the synthesis of all the compounds (Al2S3, Al2Se3, Ga2S3 and Ga2Se3). However, the most intense diffraction patterns with the most intense peaks were formed in the case of gallium sulphides and selenides, which clearly showed that the products synthesised were Ga2S3 and Ga2Se3. According to our findings, mechanochemistry is an appropriate method for the synthesis of metal chalcogenides, namely Al2S3, Al2Se3, Ga2S3 and Ga2Se3.
Finally, we evaluated the stability of the products Al2S3 and Al2Se3 so that we put the product Al2S3 to X-ray analysis in different time intervals (after 14 days and after 2 months). The product Al2Se3 was analysed by thermogravimetric analysis. After the thermogravimetric analysis was completed, we analysed the product by X-ray diffraction as well. The results showed that the both products were unstable since they had both decomposed. |
