Povzetek

Diplomsko delo z naslovom Dunajska secesija, ornament in ženska figura pri Gustavu Klimtu obravnava analizo ornamenta in pojav motiva femme fatale s poudarkom na Gustavu Klimtu. Klimta je na vseh področjih determiniral čas, v katerem je živel. V ta namen je opisan zgodovinski okvir findesièclovske umetnosti in najpomembnejša spoznanja epohe. Navedene in opisane so predvsem tiste umetniške karakteristike, ki jih zasledimo v Klimtovem opusu. Delo se nadaljuje s preučevanjem Klimtovega najljubšega motiva ženske, primerjani in analizirani so različni avtorji in poiskani vzori pri kreaciji ženske upodobitve. Umetniki so se zgledovali predvsem iz starodavnih mitologij in Biblije, znotraj katerih so izstopali motivi Judite, Salome in Eve. Osrednji del je namenjen raziskovanju združenja dunajske secesije, njenih protagonistov in njihovi ciljni naravnanosti. Člani secesije so bili zaslužni za širjenje simbolizma in umetnosti art nouveau na Dunaju, pri čemer sta imela ključno vlogo Ver Sacrum in secesijski paviljon. Zadnji in ključni del diplomskega dela je posvečen Klimtovi umetnosti. V kronološkem smislu so predstavljeni motivi žensk, ki so nam v pomoč osvetliti Klimta kot umetnika in moškega.

Sekundarni povzetek: The thesis, entitled Vienna Secession, the Ornament and the female figure in Gustav Klimt work deals with the analysis of the ornament and the motif of femme fatale with an emphasis on Gustav Klimt. In all areas of his life, Klimt was influenced by the time he lived in. To this end, I have described the historical context of the fin de siècle art and the most important findings of the epoch by listing and describing those artistic characteristics that can be found in Klimt's oeuvre. Further on, my work explores Klimt's favourite motif - that of a woman - by comparing and analysing different authors and influences related to the depiction of women. Artists were mainly inspired by ancient mythologies and by the Bible, with motifs of Judith, Salome and Eve that stood out. The pivotal part of the thesis aims to research the Vienna Secession association, its protagonists and their objectives. Members of the Secession were the ones to spread symbolism and art nouveau in Vienna, and the magazine Ver Sacrum and the Secession pavilion played a key role in this activity. The last and most important part of this thesis is dedicated to Klimt's art. It provides a chronological presentation of motifs of women which help us to highlight Klimt as an artist and as a man.
