diplomsko delo

IMPORTANCE OF OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN'S HEALTH |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
The aim of the thesis, entitled Importance of outdoor activities for children's health, is an empirical research describing chronic non-communicable diseases and respiratory diseases which nowadays present a risk to the health of children. In addition, the theoretical part includes the studies and expert opinions about the influence and importance of exercise in a natural environment for children as well as the prevention of non-communicable diseases of modern society. Experts believe and have proven that regular daily sports activities with medium intensity have a strong impact on physical health, well-being and also on other areas of life. What is more, they stress the importance of setting a good example and encourage parents to promote regular sports activities for children in the nature. The empirical part presents the results of the research examining the current situation in terms of sports activities of children attending the Ivanjkovci kindergarten. The results were analysed and compared to my thesis, entitled The impact of outdoor activities on the health of children, written 17 years ago (Vočanec, 1999). The purpose was to establish whether the situation has changed since then and to prove that it has deteriorated, mainly due to modern lifestyle. The recent research and its comparison to the one made 17 years ago showed some significant, but also alarming facts. Children more frequently suffer from respiratory diseases and spend less time outside compared to the past, although there are enough adequate and safe areas, equipment and possibilities to engage in outdoor activities. |
