magistrsko delo

EXPERENCING FLOW AMONG SLOVENIAN ELITE MUSICIANS |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
The flow is a condition that brings a high level of enjoyment and relates to an overall perception that people feel when they are comprehensively involved in a certain activity. Individuals are so intrinsically included in the activity that nothing else matters during execution, since they enjoy themselves very much and are intrinsically motivated. Active involvement in music, as well as listening to music can often stimulate flow. Preliminary research shows that musicians, professional, but more often amateur, often experience flow in musical performance, improvisation and composing. In this master thesis we have examined the experience of flow among elite musicians, which of the nine dimensions of flow is most strongly expressed, whether there are gender differences in the experience of flow, is expertise associated with the experience of flow among elite musicians, whether rehearsing and satisfaction with the execution are associated with the experience of flow, is the experience of flow positively associated with interpretive readiness, and if the experience of flow increases with life satisfaction. A total of 114 Slovenian elite musicians participated in the research. Participants filled in Questionnaire of flow DFS-2, Questionnaire of satisfaction with life SWLS and questionnaire about the experience of flow that was created for the purpose of this research. The results showed that the perception of flow is positively associated with age, the amount of practicing, satisfaction with the performance, interpretive readiness and life satisfaction. Gender differences were not confirmed. Dimension of a sense of control was the most strongly expressed flow dimension. |
