Sekundarni povzetek: The diploma thesis describes the effect of animals on people, especially therapy dog on children or pupils and their psychosocial development. This paper discusses the impact of animal assisted therapy and animal assisted activity, their advantages and disadvantages. Particularly exposes the dog as the most common animal used in the animal assisted activities and therapy, its meaning, impact and the possibilities for its integration into school work. At the end are described examples of good practice of integration of dogs into work with pupils in Slovenia and abroad. A literature review has demonstrated the integration of animals (dog) when working with children, because there are many examples of good practices around the world, that show us how the professionals of different disciplines include animals in their work with pupils. There are also a number of projects in Slovenia aimed at the integration of a dog in a variety of activities in the work with school population.

Povzetek (ePrints): V diplomskem delu je predstavljen vpliv živali na ljudi, predvsem terapevtskega psa na otroke in njihov psihosocialni razvoj. V delu je opisan pomen aktivnosti in terapije s pomočjo živali, njune prednosti in slabosti. Posebej je izpostavljen pomen psa kot najpogosteje uporabljene živali za aktivnosti in terapijo s pomočjo živali, njegov vpliv na posameznika ter možnosti za njegovo vključevanje v šolsko delo. Na koncu je nanizanih še nekaj primerov dobrih praks vključevanja psa v delo z učenci v Sloveniji in po svetu. Pregled literature je pokazal na možnosti vključevanja živali (psa) pri delu z učenci, saj obstaja po svetu veliko primerov dobrih praks, ki nam kažejo, kako lahko strokovnjaki različnih strok žival vključijo v delo z učenci. Tudi v Sloveniji je vedno več projektov, katerih namen je vključevanje psa v različne dejavnosti pri delu s šolsko populacijo.
