Sekundarni naslov: Emotional intelligence in gifted children
Sekundarni povzetek: The purpose of this thesis is to present the link between the two constructs, namely emotional intelligence and gifted students. At the beginning the basic concepts, namely what are emotions and what is intelligence are explained. Both are combined in the phrase emotional intelligence. Each of the authors, who is dealing with emotional intelligence, sees focus somewhere else. Also the tools that can measure emotional intelligence in individuals are presented. Further work focuses on gifted students, what are their characteristics, how they are discovered in elementary school and what are the conditions to be a gifted student. The final section summarizes the findings of various researchers on emotional intelligence in gifted students. The majority agrees with the idea that gifted students have a higher level of emotional intelligence in comparison with non-gifted students. There is also a trend towards the fact that emotional intelligence depends on general intelligence, but the influence of the environment must not be ignored. Emotional intelligence is also one of the important factors that affects the success of an individual.
