Povzetek
V zadnjem desetletju je prišlo do prave eksplozije rasti uporabnikov interneta in eksponentne rasti internetnih strani. Razmerje je skoraj štiri domene na uporabnika, zato izziv vodenja uspešne strani ni več le zgolj tehnične narave. V zgodnji dobi interneta je bilo potrebno ob postavitvi nove spletne strani to vnesti v spletni imenik. Danes uporabniki internetnih iskalnikov potrebujejo spletno optimizacijo – SEO (ang. Search Engine Optimization), da nas sploh najdejo. Neprestani razvoj internetnih tehnologij in algoritmov spletnih iskalnikov zahteva, da jih stalno spremljamo in se jim prilagajamo. Danes spletni iskalniki uporabljajo več kot 200 algoritmov. Spletni pajki se vse bolj osredotočajo na samo vsebino strani pa tudi na to, kakšno uporabniško izkušnjo neka stran ponuja.
V diplomskem delu smo v začetku razložili nekatere osnovne pojme ter na kratko predstavi razvoj interneta in iskalnikov. Predstavili smo kako se je SEO spreminjal skozi čas ter zakaj je SEO nujen za uspeh. V osrednjem delu naloge smo se posvetili najpomembnejšim faktorjem uspešnosti optimizije in si ogledali orodja, s katerimi te elemente lahko testiramo. Prav tako smo izpostavili morebitne prednosti in slabosti, ki jih nekatera orodja izkazujejo. Vsa opisana orodja so brezplačna, ne zahtevajo registracije na SEO straneh, omogočajo pa takojšno analizo katerekoli strani, brez potrebnega lastništva in dostopa do strežnikov. S pregledom orodij smo prišli do ugotovitve, da je s številom in kombinacijo dostopnih orodij, ki ustrezajo naštetim kriterijem, možno zadostno meriti uspešnost elementov optimizacije spletnih strani.

With the boom in the rate of worlds population that has access to the internet in the last decades and the exponential growth of the number of web domains, to the point of there being almost 4 web domains per internet user, the challenge of managing a successful website is no longer of just a technical nature. About 20 years ago all we would have to do once we set up our website is submit it to an internet directory and that would be the end of that. However this has vastly changed. To have web crawlers notice and search engines rank our page we have to employ SEO – Search Engine Optimization. With constant changes in the field and improvements of internet technologies, methods of web crawling and search engine algorithms, of which there are now at least two hundred that we are aware of, we need to stay up to date and be prepared to adapt. Perhaps the biggest reason for the changes in SEO is and will be the sophistication of web crawlers that have, with the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning, to started to focus on the quality of content and the user experience a website offers.
In this thesis we observe how the internet and search engines have changed and with it, SEO. We also look into reasons why SEO is important if we want to run a successful website. In the main part of the thesis we look into which elements are key factors when it comes to SEO and, importantly, which tools can be used to test those elements. All the tools mentioned in the thesis were selected with the following criteria: they have to be free, that they don't require registering an account with any given SEO website, and that the tools can analyze any given website regardless if we are or aren't the owners and have or don't have access to the websites server or settings. In the end, after going over what the tools offer, we come to the conclusion, that with the tools that are available, it is possible to combine and use them to obtain a sufficient measurement of the SEO metrics. |
