diplomsko delo
Povzetek
Diplomsko delo Otrokovo razumevanje socialnih vrlin se dotika predvsem normativne etike, in sicer natančneje, ene izmed strategij normativne etike - etike vrlin.

A CHILD'S UNDERSTANDING OF SOCIAL VIRTUES |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
In the graduation paper A child's understanding of the social virtues, we mainly interfered in normative ethics, especially in one of the strategies of normative ethics - the ethics of virtue. In the theoretical part we more precisely defined the virtues and problems of different views on them, we touched moral education and theories, which cover moral education, and a few words was given to the different levels of moral judgment. We presented different views on the virtues through the eyes of the three great philosophers: Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. In this part of the graduation paper we also explained the virtues, which we have used in empirical research. In empirical part we focused on the empirical study, how preschoolers understand, recognize and perceive five different virtues, which have been selected on the basis of interviews with them. These virtues are friendship, courage, patience, kindness and diligence. The empirical part of graduation paper is an empirical research of preschool children, which was made on the basis of depth study of virtue ethics, and we found out, how the certain virtue is important to children, how they understand it and what this certain virtue covers in children understanding of it. Graduation paper consists of theoretical and empirical part, so we used both research methods - theoretical and empirical. The main finding shows that even preschoolers cognitively understand and perceive virtues and in a large extent they already understand what it means to conduct or act in accordance with them. Children in pre-school primarily operate on the basis of concrete experiences. However, in accordance with the virtues, they primarily act in order to avoid disapproval by adults, that is from the authority and respect. Children internalize virtues only later and make sense of them. Virtues are part of us and our character. They contribute to the regulation of social relations and they provide individual guidance for the operation in the society. |
