Abstract

V diplomskem delu smo proučevali korozijsko obnašanje nerjavnega jekla PROKRON 1 v različnih koncentracijah HCl (c = 0,01; 0,1; 1,0 M HCl), ter ob različnih dodatkih inhibitorja (c = 0,0005; 0,001; 0,005; 0,01 M). Pri eksperimentalnem delu smo uporabili samo eno vrsto inhibitorja, in sicer vitamin C. Meritve so bile opravljene s potenciodinamsko polarizacijsko metodo, kjer smo primerjali inhibitorni učinek izbranega inhibitorja v prisotnosti različnih koncentracij vitamina C in HCl. V zaključnem delu meritev je bilo ugotovljeno, da se vitamin C obnaša z dvojnim delovanjem, saj ponekod deluje kot inhibitor, ponekod pa kot aktivator.

Secondary title: Vitamin C as an inhibitor of corrosion processes in an acid medium
Secondary abstract: In this diploma work we studied corrosion behaviour of stainless steel PROKRON 1 in different concentrations of HCl (c = 0.01, 0.1, 1.0 M HCl), and the various additives inhibitor (c = 0.0005, 0.001, 0.005, 0.01 M). In experimental work, we used only one type of inhibitor, namely vitamin C. The measurements were made with the potentiodynamic polarization method, where we compared the inhibitory effect of selected inhibitor in the presence of various concentrations of vitamin C in HCl. Results show that Vitamin-C exhibits a dual character. In some cases it acts as corrosion inhibitor and in the other as an activator of corrosion processes (especially reduction of Fe3+ to Fe2+, which causes the breakdown of the formed passive layer.
