Abstract

Namen diplomske naloge je bilo proučiti inhibicijsko učinkovitost neionskega surfaktanta TRITON-X-405 na nerjavnem jeklu PROKRON 11sp. Kot korodirni medij smo izbrali solno kislino HCl, treh različnih koncentracij in sicer ; c = 0,001, 0,1 in 1,0 mol L-1 , medtem ko so bile izbrane koncentracije inhibitorja TRITON-X-405 naslednje; c = 0,00001, 0,0001 in 0,001 mol L-1. Le-te so bile uporabljene le v primeru ko je bila koncentracija klorovodikove kisline enaka 0,1 mol L-1. V primeru koncentracije 0,01 mol L-1 in 1,0 mol L-1 HCl, je bila dodana koncentracija inhibitorja le 0,001 mol L-1. Širše smo obdelali le koncentracijo klorovodikove kisline c = 0,1 mol L-1 in sicer smo dodali tri različne koncentracije TRITON-X-405 c = (0,001, 0,0001, 0,00001) mol L-1, ter proučevali korozijska dogajanja pri treh različnih načinih delovanja korodirnega medija (mirujoč medij, mešanje in mešanje ob dodatku abrazivnih delcev), ter pri dveh različno časovno trajajočih izpostavitvah korodirnemu mediju. V ta namen smo uporabili gravimetrično metodo, ter slikanje površin z optičnim mikroskopom. Ker so dobljene vrednosti za korozijsko hitrost nižje od 0,025 mm/leto lahko zaključimo, da TRITON-X-405 ustrezno inhibira korozijske procese v izbranem mediju in seveda za izbrano jeklo v vseh treh izbranih načinih in to že pri zelo nizki koncentraciji c = 0.00001 mol L-1.

Secondary title: Inhibition efficiency of non-ionic surfactant TRITON-X-405 in the case of erosion corrosion
Secondary abstract: An objective of the present diploma was to study the applicability of non-ionic surfactant TRITON-X-405 as corrosion inhibitor for stainless steel (SS), type PROKRON 11 sp in an aqueous solutions of hydrochloric acid HCl, at three different concentrations: c = 0.001, 0.1 and 1.0 mol L-1. The inhibitor’s concentration during the gravimetric study was within the range of 1.0 x 10-5 to 1.0 x 10-3 mol L-1 for TRITON−X−405. This concentration range was valid only in case where the concentration of hydrochloric acid was equivalent to 0.1 mol L-1. If the concentration of HCl was 0.01 mol L-1 and 1.0 mol L-1 HCl, the concentration of added inhibitor was equal to 0,001 mol L-1. Only at the concentration of hydrochloric acid c = 0.1 mol L-1, where three different concentrations of TRITON-X-405 c = (0.001, 0.0001, 0.00001) mol L-1 were added, the investigation was made in the greater detail. Actually, the corrosion processes at three different modes of corrosive medium (stationary, stirring condition, and stirring with adding of abrasive particles) was studied. And all of this, at two different exposure time to the corrosive media. For this purpose the gravimetric method was used and the optical microscope for surface characterization of metal surface. Obtained values for the corrosion rates were less than 0.025 mm / year. From this reason we can conclude that the TRITON-X-405 indicates good inhibition properties for chosen steel in all three selected modes and already at very low concentration c = 0.00001 mol L-1.
