diplomsko delo
Abstract
Razvoj hemokompatibilnih biomaterialov predstavlja izjemen izziv, saj so kardiovaskularni zapleti glavni vzrok smrti ljudi v razvitem svetu. Raziskave so zato v zadnjem času usmerjene v iskanje protitrombogenih substanc rastlinskega izvora.

Fibre treatment with modified xylan for hemocompatibility achievement |
Secondary abstract: |
The development of hemocompatible biomaterials represents extreme challenge, as the cardiovascular complications are a main reason of deaths in developed world. For that reason, the research is focused in searching of antithrombotic substances of plant source. The main goal of study was to chemically modify xylans from different sources, to get antithrombotic properties and to apply them on fibers.
The results has shown that the used procedure of sulfation was apropriate for treatment of used samples of xylans. Activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) inceased after sulfation, compared to non sulfated samples. APTT increased with higher content of sulfated groups in the sample. After sulfation, the xylans became water soluble and as such appropriate fibre treatment. |
