Abstract

Diplomsko delo obravnava kolaž in njegov prispevek v slikarstvu. Predstavljen je razvoj kolaža skozi zgodovino, kako se je tehnika uveljavila in kako se je razvijala vse do danes. Kolaž se je razvil v druge tehnike, kot so asemblaž in fotomontaža. Z nenehnim razvojem kolaža so povezane tudi nekatere slikarske smeri. Na razvoj kolaža sta vplivala hiter industrijski napredek ter družbeno-politično stanje v času obeh svetovnih vojn. Industrializacija je pripomogla s pojavnostjo vedno novih izdelkov, ki so jih umetniki vključevali v svoja dela, medtem ko so družbeno-politične razmere kolažu dale namen. Kolaž je igral pomembno vlogo pri postavljanju meril glede dojemanja umetnosti in njene estetske vrednosti in kaj še lahko označimo kot umetnino. V opisu praktičnega dela sta predstavljena namen in cilj, kako kolaž ponovno približati tradicionalnim slikarskim tehnikam brez vnosa tujih predmetov v slikarska dela. Podrobno so opisani uporabljeni materiali in njihov namen. Predstavljena je predpriprava, in sicer izdelovanje barvnih listov, ki so ključni za ustvarjanje slikarskih del. Zraven opisov posameznih slikarskih del so predstavljene tudi vzporednice s posameznimi slikarji ali slikarskimi obdobji.

Secondary abstract:	The thesis deals with collage and its contribution to painting. The author presents the development of collage throughout history, the development of different established techniques and how it has further evolved to the present day. Collage has evolved into other techniques such as assemblage and photomontage. There are some artistic directions related to the continuous development of collage. The development of collage was effected by the rapid industrial development and the socio-political situation during the two world wars. Industrialization has contributed new products, which were used by artists in their art work and the socio-political circumstances have given collage the purpose. Collage has played an important role in setting the criteria for the perception of art and its aesthetic value and for the perception of what may be described as a work of art. The description of the practical part of the thesis presents the purpose and objectives on how to bring collage closer to traditional painting techniques without the input of foreign objects in the paintings. It contains a full description of the materials that were used and their purpose. It describes the preparation and the making of colored paper which is the key element in painting making. Besides the description of individual art work also the parallels to some painters or painting periods are presented.
