Abstract

Spletne tehnologije pridobivajo ključno vlogo na področju izobraževalnega sistema. V sklopu izobraževanja na daljavo postajajo vse bolj popularne virtualne učilnice, ki uporabnikom ponujajo interaktivno učno okolje podobno tradicionalnim učilnicam. V diplomskem delu smo najprej preučili sodobne sklade tehnologij in tehnike realnočasovne komunikacije na spletu. S pridobljenim znanjem smo nato izdelali spletno interaktivno učilnico, ki s pomočjo interaktivne table ali video konference omogoča uporabnikom učenje na daljavo. V sklopu testiranja aplikacije smo opravili meritve knjižnice Socket.IO in vmesnika WebRTC in ugotovili, da so izbrane tehnologije zelo primerne za izdelavo spletnih in mobilnih realnočasovnih aplikacij.

Secondary abstract: Web technologies are gaining a key part in the field of education. One of the more popular movements today being used in the education industry is the virtual classroom, which offer interactive learning environment similar to traditional face-to-face classrooms. In this thesis, we have reasearched modern technology stacks and communication technologies needed for real-time web communication. With the gained knowledge we produced web-based interactive classroom that offers distance learning through interactive whiteboard and video conferencing. During web application testing we performed Socket.IO library and WebRTC interface tests that have proven big performance and scalability leaps in the field of real-time web.
