diplomsko delo
Abstract

The importance of play in developing work and study habits in a preschool child |
Secondary abstract: |
Learning does not begin at school. It begins at birth. The newborn baby quickly learns how to attract parents' attention. Learning only accelerates and upgrades over the years. When raising a child parents have a goal of developing the child's independence. To be able to learn a child needs appropriate conditions, time, adult's encouragement and patience. Their work habits are primarily gained by observing parents as role models. However, they can be imparted through play, which has to be interesting enough to motivate the child to be willing to learn. The present thesis consists of theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part describes and briefly presents the play and its influence on work and study habits of a preschool child. The empirical part of the thesis deals with the way kindergarten teachers and their assistants approach the scheduled activities and whether they use motivation or force along the way. We have researched how they choose games to encourage work and study habits and whether they leave that to a coincidence or they plan it carefully. We were also interested in their opinion of play and its influences. Each interviewee has agreed that play is important for child's development, but not all of them agree that play encourages work and study habits. Most of them choose games considering the previous observation of the group as well as the topic they are dealing with. |
