Abstract

V raziskovalnem delu magistrskega dela sem želela ugotoviti, kaj so prednosti in pomanjkljivosti v prehrani Erasmus študentov.

Secondary abstract: Europe is a continent of different traditions and languages. Today, people cross its borders and communicate with other cultures more than ever before. Studying abroad is also gaining importance as it allows students to develop their professional skills and acquire additional knowledge in foreign languages, as well as familiarize themselves with other cultures. In addition to changing culture and language while on exchange, Erasmus students also change their eating habits. Balanced diet can have a significant effect on students’ health, therefore, they should pay attention to it during the exchange. In the empirical part of the thesis I tried to determine the advantages and disadvantages in the nutrition of Erasmus students. 346 students on exchange in Slovenia were included in the research. The data was gathered through an online questionnaire and then processed with the SPSS and MS Office Excel, using statistical inference method. The research showed that the eating habits of Erasmus students do not change. I have also determined that their diet is well-provided for. However, it would be reasonable to raise exchange students' awareness on the importance of healthy diet, and to enable them access to high-quality and healthy nutrition. Further research could be focused on more detailed analyses of food intake and an analysis of nutritive value of food.
