magistrsko delo

Abstract

V magistrskem delu z naslovom Obremenjenost učiteljev v slovenskih osnovnih šolah smo opredelili in razložili pojem obremenjenosti učiteljev.

Secondary title: Workload of teachers at slovenian primary schools
Secondary abstract: The thesis with the title Workload of teachers at Slovenian primary schools defines and clarifies the definition of the workload of teachers. The theoretical part presents the teaching profession and the workload and then focuses in more detail at the workload among teachers. A research was carried out to support the theory. The empirical part of the study analyses to what extent do the teachers at Slovenian primary schools feel overwhelmed by the workload. More specifically, we were interested in their view on the workload at their workplace. We have also investigated the differences between the teachers regarding the gender, the level of teaching (the difference between the teachers at the primary and the lower secondary level of education), and years of service. The results showed, the majority of teachers are aware of the workload in the workplace. A good half of the teachers estimate, they are often affected by the workload and therefore occasionally distracted and not performing their work as good as they could. Almost half of the respondents occasionally also feel overwhelmed and stressed. According to the teachers, the first three most burdensome tasks are "problem solving", "administrative work" and "class teaching". And the most common teacher responses to these are "annoyance", "difficulty to concentrate" and "the need for more time to complete the tasks". The most helpful methods in these cases are "socialising, talking to family/friends", "doing sport" and "listening to/occupying themselves with music". In order to reduce the workload, the teachers suggested "less administrative work". The analysis of the differences showed some statistically characteristic differences regarding the gender, years of service and the level of teaching.
