raziskava pri študentih
Abstract
Zastavljene hipoteze smo preverili z regresijsko analizo.

Personality traits, attentional difficulties and burnout |
Secondary abstract: |
One of the consequences of today's (too) rapid way of life is burnout. There is quite a lot of literature on burnout among employees, but in this master's thesis we focus on burnout among the population of students. With our study we wanted to examine whether some study characteristics (average study grade, year of study, student work) and specific personality traits (perfectionism, extraversion, neuroticism, rumination, reflection) predict burnout among students. We also wanted to find out if burnout among students predicts attentional difficulties (lower concentration, more cognitive errors). Our research includes 221 students (83,7 % female). The participants are from various Slovene faculties, ages between 18 and 27 years. We tested our hypothesis with regression analysis. The results show that included study characteristics are not statistically significant predictor of student burnout, on the contrary, personality traits neuroticism, perfectionism and extraversion are statistically significant predictors of burnout among students. One of our findings is also that burnout among students predicts lower concentration and a greater number of cognitive errors. Despite some limitations, our study has a great application value. It can be used as theoretical basis for further studies, as well as the basis for planning preventive and curative burnout interventions in students, and the prevention of burnout among employees. |
