diplomsko delo visokošolskega študijskega programa Informacijska varnost
Abstract
V diplomski nalogi je pojasnjeno, kaj sploh je psihična travma, saj je zapleteno psihološko
stanje. Predstavljene so oblike travme, kratka zgodovina razumevanja travme, razlike v
motnjo.
Izpostavljeni so predvsem veterani, žrtve
posebej z zdravljenjem ljudi s travmo.

Music therapy and trauma |
Secondary abstract: |
This thesis explains what psychological trauma is, as it is a very complex psychological
condition. Different types of trauma are presented, as well as brief history of
understanding trauma, differences in public perception of trauma in the past and today,
and situations that can cause trauma. Trauma is not developed by every individual
involved in a traumatic event, but is caused by a combination of factors that lead to it. The
thesis primarily focuses on specific groups that developed post-traumatic stress disorder:
victims of sexual abuse, soldiers or veterans and patients in the forensic psychiatric
departments. A neurological view of the development of trauma is also presented. The
thesis explains why today there is lesser stigma associated to trauma - especially because
we have better knowledge of the causes and more treatment possibilities. Because trauma
is considerably common, the thesis presents a form of therapy that is increasingly popular
in treating trauma and is also suitable for people with communication problems.
The use of music therapy is very broad, but the thesis focuses on the influence and
effectiveness of music therapy in people with a post-traumatic stress disorder. It also
presents neurological insights into music therapy, main goals of music therapy, and the
effects it has on physiological processes in the body, such as heart beat, breathing
frequency and galvanic response of the skin. It also describes different population, which
often use music therapy as a tool for overcoming trauma. Most of trauma victims are
veterans, victims of sexual abuse and patients in the forensic psychiatric departments. The
thesis also mentiones group music therapy for people with post-traumatic stress disorder.
The thesis determines that music therapy is an effective tool for overcoming trauma,
however there are unfortunately no music therapists in Slovenia that would specialize in
treatment of patients with trauma. |
