Abstract

Moduli, ki jih vsebuje programski predlog, so povezani z mediji in s socializacijo (modul 1), z etiko (modul 2) in s praktično delno medijsko analizo (modul 3).

Secondary title: Media literacy program for students (10-15 years old) of the Republic of Croatia
Secondary abstract: The paper describes media literacy as a key component of information literacy which has significant role in figuration of human capabilities from cognitive to emotional. Due to its importance, in the recognition of Slovenian program and recommendations by European Comission, UNESCO and UNICEF, the suggestion of the media literacy program has been created, which should be conducted in Republic of Croatia, where the mandatory program of media pedagogy still does not exist. The modules, which are included in the suggestion, are related to the media and socialization (module 1), ethics (module 2) and practical work – media analysis (module 3). Modules are led by didactic approach by medical and information – communication experts which shall (as the students and the parents), at the end of the program, give their assessment and evaluation of the program for the improvement in the future. To ensure the participation, the program itself will be free of charge due to support of the organizer. With this step, we want to point out to the public and the Croatian government, the importance of media literacy and the danger it could have if it is not included in compulsory education program. Finally, the program ensures an increase in employment as termination of the trend of "brain drain".
