Abstract

Secondary title: ǂThe ǂcomparison analysis of Irish and Canadian business culture
Secondary abstract: With the globalisation phenomenon and easier accessibility to other countries, many companies are deciding to enter foreign markets, however, they often underestimate the importance of expertise on the cultural environment of the market they enter. In addition to the remaining dimensions of the foreign business environment it is necessary to study the dimension of culture in detail, since in this way we can avoid cultural shock and conflicts in communication with foreign business partners. Good knowledge, understanding and adaptation to foreign cultural environment provides us with important competitive advantage, where intercultural differences can be interpreted not as a threat, but as an opportunity for searching innovative solutions. In the diploma project we studied the concept of culture and the importance of knowledge on it while entering the business environment of a foreign market. We focused on Irish and Canadian culture, analysed their business cultures in detail and placed them into selected models of intercultural differences with the aim of establishing the consequences brought by these differences to international managers.
