magistrsko delo
Abstract

Internet Addiction and Relationship Satisfaction |
Secondary abstract: |
The basic principle of this master's thesis was the research of correlation between the internet addiction phenomenon and the partnership satisfaction level. Core definitions and types of addictions as well as the formation and development of addictions, are presented in the theoretical part, followed by the description of characteristics, consequences and addiction treatment. This work tackles partnership, intimate relations and describes partnership relations satisfaction. The empirical part includes a presentation of a study involving 159 participants. Based on all obtained data, the results have shown that the participants were generally satisfied with their partnership relationship, based on its high satisfaction index. Nevertheless, the degree of internet addiction in most participants was found low. It has been demonstrated that a higher satisfaction level in a relationship correlates with minor internet dependency. In addition, the results of this study prove that there are statistically significant differences of internet addiction based on marital status. We can confirm that the longer the marital status and the older participants are, the lower this tendency seems to be. The existing research results demonstrated that, on average, men are more prone to internet addiction. Results from our study have also exposed that religious man and women lead more satisfactory relationships, though the difference is not statistically significant. The analysis from obtained data has also pointed out that participant’s education degree directly affects their partnership satisfaction level. |
