Abstract

Secondary title: Construction and implementation of a seismic table for the simulation of earthquakes and experimental dynamic response analysis
Secondary abstract: The master's thesis includes production and use of desktop earthquake simulator of harmonic excitations as well as horizontal components of a real earthquake load in one direction. The simulator is 50 x 50 x 1 cm with 80 kg vertical bearing capacity. It is run by 400 W servo motor governed by Matlab computer programme. The simulator's speed and acceleration are obtained by programmes which are incorporated into the thesis. A 3D three-degree-of freedom model has also been made. Harmonic excitations of various amplitudes and frequencies, as well as real earthquake simulation have been applied to it. The desktop earthquake simulator's results such as damping, natural frequency and internal forces have been compared with the calculations aquired by the finite element method. The thesis deals with the concurrence of theory and practice in regard with the constuction on dynamic load. Along with the practical experiments performance on models the goal of which is to obtain information on construction's dynamic response, the desktop simulator enables realistc visualisation of the dynamic response.
