Abstract
Podatke smo pridobili v okviru projekta Trendi telesnega, gibalnega in osebnostnega razvoja OŠ mladine - socialni status in življenjski slog sta pomembna dejavnika otrokovega razvoja. Podatke o telesni samopodobi in športni dejavnosti smo pridobili s pomočjo dveh anketnih vprašalnikov. Podobno svojo skupno telesno samopodobo ocenjujejo nizko športno dejavni dečki in zelo športno dejavne deklice.

The purpose of the survey was to show the connection between sports activities and body self-image among boys and girls in the late childhood period. The survey took place in primary schools of north-eastern Slovenia: Podčetrtek Primary School, Rogaška Slatina Primary School, Lovrenc na Pohorju Primary School, Starše Primary School, Tone Čufar Maribor Primary School, Franc Rozman Stane Maribor Primary School, Šentilj Primary School and Mala Nedelja Primary School. It was conducted on the sample of 306 pupils age 9 to 11. In whole, we interviewed 138 girls and 168 boys. The data were obtained during the project: Trendi telesnega gibanja in osebnostnega razvoja OŠ mladine - socialni status in življenjski slog sta pomembna dejavnika otrokovega razvoja (Trends of Physical Movement and Personal Development of Primary School Children - Social Status and Lifestyle are Important Factors for the Child's Development). Two survey questionnaires were used: "The Questionnaire About Self-image", while the second questionnaire "Physical Activity of Young People" was for the parents who gave an estimate of the students about their sports activity (i. e. which extracurricular activities their children take part in, how much time did they devote to them etc.). The interviewees were divided into three groups according to sports activity: less active, moderately active and highly active. Gathered data was processed using the programme SPSS. The difference in body self-image according to sports activity for each sex separately was identified with a one-way variance analysis (ANOVA). The comparison between boys and girls in joint body self-image shows a better evaluation of body self-image between boys in comparison to girls. The biggest differences in the evaluation were found among highly sport-active boys and moderately sport-active girls. It is of relevance that the differences between more and less active girls are shown in body self-image, but not in general image. |
