Abstract

V začetku empiričnega dela magistrskega dela smo preverili faktorsko strukturo naših podatkov, naredili smo torej komponentne analize, iz katerih smo izločili dejavnike narcisizma in dejavnike agresivnosti. V prvih petih hipotezah smo preverjali povezanost dimenzij narcisizma z dimenzijami agresivnosti. Korelacijske analize so pokazale zmerne in nizke povezanosti dimenzij narcisizma in agresivnosti.

Secondary title: Relationship between narcissism and aggression
Secondary abstract: The present study examined the relations between narcissism and aggression. We tested the correlation of the concepts with a web survey in which 250 people aged from 18 to 50 participated. The online survey consisted of a NPI narcissism questionnaire (Raskin & Hall, 1979; Raskin & Terry, 1988), a BPAQ aggression questionnaire (Buss & Perry, 1992), and the demographic data of the participants. At the beginning of the empirical part of the tasks, we examined the factorial structure of our data. We did the component analysis from which we excluded factors of narcissism and aggression. In our sample we identified two factors of narcissism which we named power and exhibitionism. We also identified four factors of aggression, which we called anger, hostility, physical aggression and verbal aggression. In the first five hypotheses, we examined the correlation of the dimensions of narcissism with the dimensions of aggression. Correlation analysis showed moderate and low correlation between the dimensions of narcissism in aggression. Furthermore, we were interested in the differences between the genders in the expression of the dimensions of narcissism and aggression. It turned out that there were no differences between the males and the females in the expression of the dimensions of narcissism. The differences between the genders in the expression of the dimensions of aggression, appeared in the dimension of the verbal and physical aggression. It appeared that males had higher expressed degrees of verbal and physical aggression than females. We also examined the correlation of the dimensions of narcissism and aggression with the level of education of the individuals and the level of education of their parents. The results showed that the dimensions are negatively correlated to the education of individuals. Statistically significant are correlations with the dimensions of anger, hostility and physical aggression.
