Abstract

Kako s trajnostnim managementom človeških virov izboljšati dobro počutje zaposlenih in ohraniti dolgoročen obstoj organizacije, predstavlja odprt problem in izhodišče za nadaljnjo raziskovanje.

Secondary title: Developing concept of sustainable human resource management
Secondary abstract: Nowadays organizations are facing constant economic, social and environmental changes and challenges. That is why it is important for organizations to strive for sustainability, which includes the achievement of economic, social and environmental goals in order to maintain their long-term success. Human resources play an important role in organizational performance, so it is necessary to encourage the sustainable development in human resource management as well. The emerging field of sustainable human resource management emphasizes that long-term development of human resources is essential and leads to lifelong organizational success. The core problem with the concept of sustainable human resource management is that it is not sufficiently researched and recognized by organizations. For this purpose, we investigated the field with the help of professional and scientific articles, and then tried to prove with the current literature that sustainable management of human resources has a positive effect on the employees well-being and on the long-term organizational success. Researches have confirmed the first hypothesis, which states that the negative effects on employees are reduced through appropriate functions of sustainable human resource management. We have only partially confirmed the second hypothesis because we found that sustainable human resource management has an effect on the long-term success of an organization, but there is still a lot of research needed in this area. The possibilities to improve the well-being of employees and to maintain the long-term existence of the organization through sustainable human resource management are the opening arguments for further research. With the gained knowledge we formulated a model of sustainable human resource management that is suitable for Slovenian environment and is based on long-term goals and positive impact on employees, organization and society.
