Abstract

Secondary title: ǂThe ǂinfluence of a pre-school teacher on the circle-drawing ability in children aged 3 to 4 years
Secondary abstract: The final part concentrates on the theoretical part in which essential factors for as successful results in the field of graphomotorics as possible were summarized from the professional literature. The focus was given on the initial literacy, communication activities - writing and listening, the role of an adult, graphomotorics. We researched the correct writing and body posture, where to start drawing a circle and in which direction as well as provided expert opinions on development milestones in drawing and influences on literacy. The practical part includes activity plans for nineteen children who were observed and included in the activities over a three-month period with the aim to achieve better abilities in drawing a circle. The children were tested at the beginning on A4 and A3 paper size with the same circle drawing exercise, while different parameters were observed and recorded. After the practical part was done, the same exercise was repeated and the initial and final results were compared. The results confirmed the influence of a pre-school teacher on the circle-drawing ability, whereas the gender and age of children did not affect the better or worse abilities of them. Particularly good results were obtained when observing the closure of the circle and body posture, which confirms progress from the initial to the final check.
