Abstract
Izhodišče in namen: Število starejšega prebivalstva se po svetu hitro povečuje, kar predstavlja velik izziv za zdravstveno nego. Delovno okolje ter značilnosti starostnika z demenco sta zelo pomembna dejavnika, ki vplivata na izkušnje ter zadovoljstvo negovalnega osebja, ki neguje starostnika z demenco. Z zaključnim delom želimo prispevati k boljšemu razumevanju izkušenj negovanja starostnika z demenco, kakšna čustva in občutke ob tem doživljajo in kako se soočajo s težavami.
Raziskovalna metodologija in metode: V empiričnem delu zaključnega dela je uporabljena kvalitativna deskriptivna metoda. Za zbiranje podatkov je bila uporabljena metoda delno strukturiranih intervjujev desetih članov negovalnega tima v socialno varstvenem zavodu. Prepisani zvočni posnetki so bili analizirani po metodi tematske analize.
Rezultati: Glede na analizo podatkov smo rezultate razvrstili v pet glavnih tem: čustva ob negovanju, občutki ob negovanju, doživljanje oseb z demenco, načini soočanja pri delu z dementnimi osebami in predloge za izboljšanje dela z dementnimi osebami. Na podlagi podatkov smo ugotovili, da ima negovalno osebje, ki neguje starostnika z demenco, različne občutke, čustva ter tako dobre kot tudi slabe izkušnje z negovanjem starostnika z demenco.
Diskusija in zaključek: Negovalno osebje z negovanjem starostnika z demenco podoživlja različna čustva in občutke. Najtežje se sooča z njihovo agresivnostjo, s kričanjem, z nezmožnostjo samostojnosti, nezaupanjem in žaljenjem. Boljša organizacija dela, zaposlitev dodatnega in izkušenega kadra, boljša komunikacija v negovalnem timu, izobraževanja, supervizija in psihološka podpora so nujni za zmanjšanje obremenitev negovalnega osebja pri delu z osebami, obolelimi za demenco.

The nursing staff's experiences with nursing care of elderly living with dementia |

Introduction: The population of elderly people is growing rapidly around the world, which is a major challenge for the health care. The working environment and the characteristics of the elderly with dementia are very important factors that affect the experience and satisfaction of nursing staff that nourish the elderly with dementia. We want to contribute to a better understanding of the nursing staff experiences of nursing elderly with dementia and how they face problems. In this way, I want to contribute to an easier understanding and ease of acre of the elderly with dementia.
Research methodology: A qualitative descriptive methodology of the research was used in the empirical part of diploma. The method of semi structured interview of 10 members of the nursing team in nursing home was used for data collection. Transcripted interviews were analyzed using thematic analysis.
Results: According to the data analysis, the four main themes were conducted: concern for the emotions, nurturing emotions, the experience of caring for the elderly with dementia and the search for solutions to work with the elderly. Based on the data, we found the next observations: the nursing staff that cares for the elderly with dementia are experiencing different feelings and emotions as well as good and difficult experiences of caring for the elderly with dementia.
Discussion and conclusion: Nursing staff relives their own emotions with the care of the elderly with dementia. The most difficult part is facing their aggressiveness, shouting, the lack of trust, and insults. As a solution, they proposed better organization of work, employment of additional and experienced staff, better communication between the nursing team, additional education, supervision, psychological support, introduction of organized workshops for nursing staff and relatives, more awareness about the diseases through media, and more organized socialization for patients with dementia. |
