Abstract

V diplomskem delu se posvečam toksični moškosti na Univerzi v Ljubljani. Predstavim različne oblike moškosti ter univerzo predstavim kot spolno zaznamovano institucijo, ki ima dolgo moško zgodovino. Predstavim različne stile vodenja organizacij ter stil vodenja univerz. V diplomski nalogi opišem zaščitne, toksične prakse, ki se na univerzi izražajo kot diskriminatorne prakse, spolno ne nevtralni kurikulum, spolno zaznamovano znanje ter poučevanje. Diskriminatorne prakse prestavim kot toksične, tihe prakse hegemone moškosti, ki okrepijo prevlado moških nad ženskami. Te prakse so lahko direktne ali prikrite, univerza pa jih soustvarja ter reproducira. Toksične prakse so oviralne za kvalitetno raziskovalno delo ter za pedagoško delo. Poleg tega te prakse predstavijo univerzo kot zaščitnico patriarhalnih odnosov. Opisana je vertikalna ter horizontalna spolna segregacija na Univerzi v Ljubljani. Diskriminatorne prakse so predstavljene na individualni, organizacijski, institucionalni ter kulturni ravni. Prek opravljenih intervjujev z zaposlenimi na Univerzi v Ljubljani ter s pomočjo pridobljenih statistik predstavim, kako se toksična moškost kaže na Univerzi v Ljubljani.

Secondary title: Toxic Masculinity at the University of Ljubljana
Secondary abstract: In this diploma thesis, I focus on toxic masculinity at the University of Ljubljana. I present various forms of masculinity and present the university as a gendered institution with a long male-oriented history. I present the different leadership styles of organizations and the leadership style of universities. In my thesis, I describe protective, toxic practices that are at work at the university. Those practices include discriminatory practices, gendered curriculum, gendered knowledge and gendered teaching. I present discriminatory practices as toxic, silent practices of hegemonic masculinity that reinforce male dominance over women. These practices can be direct or indirect, and university co-creates and reproduces them. Such practices are an obstacle to quality research, work and teaching. In addition, these practices portray the university as the protector of patriarchal relations. I describe vertical and horizontal segregation at the University of Ljubljana. Discriminatory practices are presented at the individual, organizational, institutional and cultural levels. Through interviews with employees at the University of Ljubljana and through the statistics obtained, I present how toxic masculinity manifests itself at the University of Ljubljana.
