Abstract

Zajema tvorjenje rim, členjenje povedi na besede in členjenje besed na zloge in glasove. V teoretičnem delu so predstavljene teme govornega razvoja, pismenosti, fonološkega zavedanja, poslušanja in opismenjevanja. V empiričnem delu so predstavljeni rezultati štiridesetih otrok, ki izkazujejo, kako otroci poimenujejo predmete, zlogujejo besede in prepoznavajo začetne in končne glasove v besedah.

Secondary title: Progress in the perception of certain levels of phonological awareness in five and six year old children
Secondary abstract: Phonological awareness is of paramount importance in the later development of literacy skills of children. It begins to develop during the preschool period and its development continues in school. It comprises the formation of rhymes, the breaking down of sentences into words, and the dividing of words into syllables and sounds. In the theoretical part the topics on speech development, literacy, phonological awareness, listening and developing literacy skills are presented. The topics of the theoretical part are interconnected and complementary. The purpose of the diploma thesis was to find out the level of phonological awareness in five and six year old children and the improvement of phonological awareness of children at the interval of three months. The data is collected in a checklist, which was filled out with individual verification of children. In the empirical part results of forty children are presented: how they name objects, syllabicate words, and identify the initial and final sounds in words. Half of the children who participated in the survey turned five and the other half reached six years old in 2019. The results indicate progress in the phonological development of children over a three-month period, as well as a better phonological awareness of older children.
