Abstract

Secondary title: Emotional and behavioural problem of children immigrants in preschool period
Secondary abstract: The theoretical part of the thesis presents the immigration to the Republic of Slovenia, the children of immigrants and their inclusion in kindergartens, as well as the occurrence of emotional and behavioural problems that accompany them on their way to the kindergarten group. The research identified the most prominent emotional and behavioural problems in immigrant children, the extent to which they occur and whether immigrant children experience similar emotional and behavioural problems (e.g., unexpected responses, disinterestedness, disobedience, fatigue, anxiety, aggression, weak social contacts). The results of the research have shown that professionals believe that emotional and behavioural problems in immigrant children occur, but in milder forms. To a greater extent, we witness unexpected responses from children, which suddenly erupt in the form of negative behaviour, and that immigrant children communicate less. The results are important for observing behaviours, managing and overcoming emotional and behavioural problems in immigrant children.
