Abstract

Secondary title: Winter adrenaline tourism offer in Slovenia
Secondary abstract: Slovenia offers winter adrenalin tourism ever since it was also offering skiing, snowboarding, ice skating etc. As it is anticipated for every product, merchandise or service to develop, winter adrenaline tourism with its offer in Slovenia has also developed. In the analysis of winter adrenaline sports offer in Slovenia, we focused on few sports sectors that are on the market for a long time but are still trying to gain a broader penetration and wider visibility or the ones that were formed more recently. We shall analyze airboarding, snowkiting and zipline. Because we wanted to obtain »first hand« information, we asked providers for an interview and with their help we tested set hypothesis. We had set most objectives for a field of theoretical sport characteristics and adrenaline tourism study. Two objectives – winter adrenaline tourism offer limited to Slovenia and segment of people most attracted by this sports industries – are linked also to the empirical part where we shall be able to compare analysis data with the data from theoretical part. In the second chapter, we define motives and segments of people attracted by adrenaline activities. We get to recognize the importance of adrenaline and extreme sports and the importance of sustainable development and analyze how sustainable the adrenaline tourism can be. The third chapter shows research results that were carried out with the selected providers: from Vogel, Bovec and Bloke. We have found that everyone invests heavily in promotion, but each provider is tackling in a different manner. Their goal is to increase visibility or to ensure that it does not decrease. We learned that for these sports, there is a very small of performance possibility, therefore the majority of providers offer the zipline, while airboring and snowboarding require snow and a suitable space. In the absence of snow, wet grass is also sufficient for airboarding. Snowkiting does not require a lot of wind - it can also be practiced on grass. Zipline is dangerous in winter only at temperatures around zero degrees Celsius. Natural factors are not decisive for performing adrenaline activities, but this does not mean that caution is not required. Adrenaline sports development should be addressed with responsibility and respectfulness to the environment and users, since they can become too dangerous in case of irresponsibility and failure to follow instructions and rules.
