Abstract
Posledice prezentizma so slabše zdravstveno stanje zaposlenih, upad produktivnosti in slabši rezultati delovnih organizacij. Poleg zdravstvenega stanja na pojavnost dejanja vplivajo številni drugi dejavniki, v večji meri povezani z delovnimi pogoji in osebnimi okoliščinami zaposlenih.

Quality of life and presentism of nursing students |
Secondary abstract: |
Introduction: Presenteeism is the act wich literature in the fields of occupational medicine and organizational sciences most often defines as individual's presence at work despite illness. It's also common occurence in nursing. The consequences of presenteeism are poor health of employees, decline in productivty and poor performance of work organizations. In addition to health status, many other factors related with working conditions and personal circumstances influence the incidence of the act. Purpose: Using research work to determine whether experiencing the quality of life of nursing students in a chosen educational institution influences the incidence of presentism. Methods: With questionnaire distributed among nursing students, we recorded their subjective quality of life assesment (10-point Cantril scale) and presenteeism (SPS-6) and by further analyzing data with t-test tried to found diffrence in levels of presenteeism beetwen groups with lower and higher perceived quality of life Results: No significant difference in degree of presentism was observed between groups with lower (20.6) and higher perceived quality of life (22.7). There were also no statistically significant differences between the groups (p = 0.11), the t-test value was (0.29). Discussion and conclusion: In our research participants indicated a good level quality of life and absence of presentism. We have failed to confirm if quality of life has any impact on incidence of presentism. Both concepts show great impact on the working and general life picture, therefore we emphasize the importance of further research as basis for introducing interventions to improve the quality of life and empower individuals to make the right decision when a disease occurs. |
