Abstract
Cinhonidin je monomer, ki ima v svoji strukturi kiralni center in je zato primeren za asimetrične sinteze v organski kemiji. S polimerizacijo cinhonidina bi lahko izdelali kiralne kolone, vendar pa je na področju polimerizacije cinhonidina malo znanega. V okviru diplomske naloge smo proučevali polimerizacijo cinhonidina v masi in polimerizacijo kontinuirne faze emulzije z visokim deležem notranje faze na osnovi cinhonidina. Raziskave smo razširili na proučevanje določenih lastnosti cinhodina, kot npr. topnost v različnih organskih topilih. Ker pri polimerizacijah cinhonidina, kot samostojnega monomera nismo dosegli želenega rezultata, smo ga kombinirali z drugimi monomeri, kot sta pentaeritritol tetrakis(3-merkaptopropionat) in divinil adipat. Kot rezultat polimerizacij v masi smo dobili polimerne monolite, ki so bili trdni, brezbarvni ali z rahlo rumenimi odtenki in upogljivi. Stabilne produkte smo okarakterizirali z elementno analizo in FTIR spektrofotometrijo. Z elementno analizo smo dokazali manjšo koncentracijo cinhonidina v določenih produktih, ki ga pa s FTIR spektroskopijo zaradi prenizke koncentracije nismo mogli dokazati.

The influence of cinchonidine on thiol-ene polymerization of multifunctional thiols with alkenes |

Cinchonidine is a monomer that has a chiral center in its structure and is therefore suitable for asymmetric syntheses in organic chemistry. Chiral columns could be fabricated by the polymerization of cinchonidine, but little is known in the field of cinchonidine polymerization. As part of the diploma thesis, we studied the polymerization of cinchonidine in bulk and the polymerization of the continuous phase of an emulsion with a high proportion of the inner phase based on cinchonidine. The research was extended to the study of certain properties of cinchodine, such as e.g. solubility in various organic solvents. Since the desired result was not achieved in the polymerizations of cinchonidine as a stand-alone monomer, it was combined with other monomers such as pentaerythritol tetrakis (3-mercaptopropionate) and divinyl adipate. As a result of mass polymerizations, we obtained polymer monoliths that were solid, colorless, or with slightly yellow hues and flexible. Stable products were characterized by elemental analysis and FTIR spectrophotometry. Elemental analysis showed a lower concentration of cinchonidine in certain products, which could not be demonstrated by FTIR spectroscopy due to too low a concentration. |
