Abstract

Obe preverjanji sta bili izvedeni z razmikom petih mesecev, in to z enakim inštrumentarijem, saj smo le tako dobili realen individualen napredek otroka.

Secondary title: ǂThe ǂability of five- and six-year-olds' to acquire certain levels of vocal awareness
Secondary abstract: In the diploma thesis entitled "Ability of Certain Levels of Phonological Awareness in Five- and Six-Year-Old Children", in the first, theoretical part, based on the selected literature, speech development, factors influencing speech development as well as the language ability development are presented. Furthermore, perceptual abilities and voice awareness are defined. In the second (i. e. empirical) part, the results of the two tests are presented and interpreted for each participant. The aim of the research was to determine the ability of certain levels of children's phonological awareness in the preschool period, namely, the ability to perceive more complex phonological awareness activities, such as picture recognition, forming words with initial and final sound given, and spelling words (a division of the words into individual sounds). Both tests were performed in a five-month interval, with the same instrumentation, as this was the only way to obtain a realistic individual progress of the child. The results obtained show the progress between the initial and final examination of phonological awareness development in children aged five to six years. It has also been noted that some children show greater progress than others.
