Abstract

Diplomsko delo obravnava primerjavo izbranih pesmi slovenskega pesnika Ivana Minattija in ameriškega pesnika Roberta Lowella.

Secondary title: The First-Person Speaker in Poems by Ivan Minatti and Robert Lowell
Secondary abstract: The bachelor's thesis presents a comparative analysis of selected poems written by the Slovenian poet Ivan Minatti and the American poet Robert Lowell. The first section focuses on the authors' biographies, provides an overview of intimism and confessionalism, and presents the two poetry collections - Nekoga moraš imeti rad and Life Studies - where the poems in question have been taken from. The main body begins with a theoretical basis of the speaker, which is followed by the analysis and comparison of the chosen poems: Skunk Hour, Man and Wife, Commander Lowell, Premišljevanje, Jaz sem drevo in Samotno je tod. The study of them brings us to the conclusion that both authors employ the authorial speaker and the subject's internal perspective, while speech, time and place differ from poem to poem.
