Abstract

V diplomski nalogi smo najprej opredelili družinsko podjetništvo, kjer smo pojasnili, katere definicije družinskega podjetništva poznamo in kaj so te definicije. Potem smo predstavili podporne ukrepe in priporočila članicam EU v zvezi z nasledstvom in prenosom poslovanja družinskih podjetij ter kakšno podporo oz. pomoč dobivajo podjetja v Sloveniji.

Secondary title: Family businesses and the succession problem
Secondary abstract: In the bachelor’s thesis, we first defined family entrepreneurship where we explained which definitions of family entrepreneurship we know and what these definitions are. We then explained the differences between family and non-family businesses and the advantages and disadvantages of a family business. We also presented how many family businesses there are in Slovenia, the European Union, and the USA. Since succession is one of the major problems in family businesses, however, we have presented this in more detail. We presented how succession works in family businesses and how it is treated. We then explained how succession planning works in a family business and what conditions must be met for succession to be successful. We also explain how succession takes place and why it takes place outside the family. We also discussed the most common problems that arise in the transfer of ownership in family businesses and the recommendations of experts on how to solve these problems or how to avoid them. Then, we presented support measures and recommendations to the EU members regarding the succession and transfer of the business of family businesses and what kind of support and assistance the companies in Slovenia receive. In the last part of the bachelor’s thesis, we presented a practical example based on the selected company and what difficulties were encountered in this company in transferring the company to a successor. We obtained the information by contacting the owner of the company and asking him some questions about the succession and the problems that arose in this regard.
