Abstract
Bančni sektor predstavlja temelj gospodarstva vsake države. Cilj vsakega gospodarstva je stabilnost in varnost bančnega sistema. Banke so se prvič v zgodovini pojavile že pred našim štetjem, z njimi pa tudi prvi zametki bančnih prevar. Z nenehnim razvojem informacijske tehnologije in posledično tudi bančnega sistema se venomer pojavljajo nove vrste prevar. Motivi za njihov nastanek so najrazličnejši, pa vendar je najpogostejši koristoljubje. Poznamo več vrst prevar, katerih izvor je lahko zunanji ali notranji. Slednji za bančne institucije predstavljajo večjo nevarnost, saj so storilci prevare ravno bančni uslužbenci ali celo management banke. Njihova primarna naloga bi moral biti vpliv na pozitiven ugled, uspešnost in varovanje banke pred raznimi zunanjimi vplivi. Med zunanjimi prevarami je najpogostejša zloraba plačilnega prometa, torej plačilnih kartic, saj so le-te med prebivalstvom poleg gotovine še zmeraj najbolj priljubljeno plačilno sredstvo. Bančnim prevaram se ne moremo v celoti izogniti, vendar jih lahko bistveno omejimo. Z raznimi sistematičnimi ukrepi lahko vplivamo na stroške, ki ob tem nastanejo, oplemenitimo uspešnost poslovanja in posledično pozitivno vplivamo na ugled banke.

Bank sector presents a foundation of every state's economy. The goal of every economy is stability and safety of its bank system. Banks firstly appeared in history even before Christ, and the origin of bank abuse with their development. With constant development of information technology and consequentially of the bank system, new scams have been appearing. Motifs for their origin are different; however, the most frequent one is self-interest. We know several types of scams whose origin can be external or internal. The latter presents bigger danger for bank institutions because the offenders of the scam are either bank employees or even the management of the bank. Their primal role should be influence for positive reputation, success, and protection of the bank against external influences. The most frequent external scam is misuse of the payment turnover, therefore payment cards, because they are still one of the most popular payment assets among people besides cash. We cannot entirely avoid bank scams; however, we can substantially limit them. With different systematic measures, we can influence the expenses that arise, enrich successfulness of the business, and consequentially positively affect the bank's reputation |
