Abstract

Secondary title: Monitoring of ACR reactions through microstructural analysis of concree with dolomite aggregate.
Secondary abstract: Concrete is historically one of the most important and most used materials in the world. Because of this, its degradation is very big problem. However, to prevent the degradation of concrete, it is necessary to understand the various causes of concrete degradation. Most common reason for degradation of concrete are natural and chemical factors. The alkali-carbonate reaction is type of chemical reaction and its action enables accelerated degradation of the concrete. The main process of the ACR reaction is dedolomitization which is harmless but it reduces the volume of the phases and thus offers the possibility of penetrating the ASR gel deeper into the concrete. The degree paper also presents methods and analytical equipment for determining the microstructure and different types of phases in degradation of concrete due to the ACR reaction.
