diplomsko delo
Tamara Šterk (Author), Darja Pavlič (Mentor)

Abstract

Secondary title: Eloquent Silence in the Poetry of Ada Škerl and Ivan Minatti
Secondary abstract: The undergraduate thesis begins with a brief presentation of intimism as a poetical movement in contemporary Slovenian poetry. It is followed by biographical presentation of two poets of the same era, Ada Škerl and Ivan Minatti, and a presentation of their collections of poems. The core of the thesis is a motivic and thematic analysis of the terms "silence" and "quiet", divided into three thematic sections: the first one is dedicated to the poetic silence that marked the work of both poets; the second part focuses on the use of mentioned concepts as cornerstones of calm, serene mood; the last section examines the motifs as a mean of expressing pain, sadness and inner turmoil.
