Abstract

Izkustveno učenje je način poučevanja, ki podpira učence pri samostojni izgradnji znanja, pri čemer se razvijajo učenčeve intelektualne sposobnosti, njihovo razumevanje snovi pa se poglablja. Učenci so pri delu bolj motivirani, imajo večjo željo po učenju, zaradi interakcije s sošolci se krepijo njihove sodelovalne veščine. Prav takšen način poučevanja spodbujata učna načrta spoznavanja okolja in družbe. Del izkustvenega učenja je metoda pouka izven učilnice. Takšen pouk uresničuje učne cilje, ki so v učilnici težje izvedljivi, a predstavlja nekaj dodatnega dela za učitelja. Z njegovo pomočjo lahko dobijo učenci boljši vpogled v družbeno, kulturno in naravno okolje, kar vodi k boljšemu razumevanju le-tega. Kraj, kjer lahko učenci spoznavajo tako družbeno, kulturno kot naravno okolje, je lahko tudi pokopališče. Namen magistrskega dela je predstaviti pokopališče na podlagi izkustvenega učenja in pouka izven učilnice kot kraj, kjer lahko uresničimo mnogo učnih ciljev iz učnih načrtov predmetov spoznavanje okolja in družba. Načrtovali smo nabor različnih aktivnosti od 1. do 5. razreda devetletne osnovne šole, ki se lahko izvajajo na pokopališču. Izdelali smo primer ekskurzije, ki jo lahko izvedemo v 3. razredu devetletne osnovne šole, in sicer na pokopališče Pobrežje v Mariboru.

Secondary title: Visiting the cemetery as a case study of fieldwork at environmental and social studies
Secondary abstract: Experiential learning is a way of teaching that supports the pupils' independent knowledge acquisition, which helps develop their intellectual capabilities and strengthen their understanding of the topic. Pupils are more motivated by this type of work and acquire a greater desire to learn. Their cooperation skills are strengthened through interactions with their classmates as well. This is exactly the type of teaching that is encouraged at Environmental and Social Studies. Fieldwork education is also a part of experiential learning. This type of education accomplishes those learning objectives that are more difficult to acquire in the classroom. It does, however, require some additional work from the teacher. With the teacher's help, pupils can get a better insight and understanding of their social, cultural, and natural environment. One of the places where pupils can familiarise themselves with their social, cultural, and natural environment is also a cemetery. The purpose of this thesis was to present the cemetery as a place where many learning objectives for Environmental and Social Studies can be met by implementing experiential learning and fieldwork education. We prepared a collection of various activities that can be implemented at a cemetery for 1st to 5th graders, and we also designed an example of a 3rd-grade field trip to the Pobrežje Cemetery in Maribor.
