diplomsko delo
Abstract
Opravili so test korakanja v medio-lateralni smeri v sedečem in stoječem položaju.

Secondary abstract: |
Introduction: Aging process results in decline in cognitive function and mobility, that can result in falls. Purpose: Test correlation between cognitive abilities and execution of mediolateral step test at nursing home residents. Methods: 32 functionally independent participants with and without experience of fall were included in our research. Participants performed step test in mediolateral direction in standing and sitting position. Results: Participants with higher score on the Mini mental state exam performed better on the mediolateral step test in standing and sitting position with both legs than participants with lower score on the Mini mental state exam. Correlation between Mini mental state exam and mediolateral step test in sitting and standing position with both legs was weak and significant. Discussion and conclusion: Based on acquired data we can confirm there is a correlation between cognitive abilities and execution of mediolateral step test at nursing home residents. Further research needs to be done with a larger number of participants equally distributed by gender and research to determine validity and reliability of mediolateral step test. |
