Secondary abstract: | After 1918, the Slovene language community began to develop under different circumstances than before: the status of the language was strengthened in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, while in the neighbouring states, in spite of international commitments, there were significant assimilation pressures. All these experiences and ordeals divided the Slovene community politically, but also strengthened its sense of difference. |
