magistrsko delo
Abstract

Equipment of tehnology classroom in primary school |

The equipment and condition of the classroom for Technology are important factors for carrying out the practical part of a class. The theoretical part introduces the laws, regulations and guidelines that concern the equipment level of classrooms for Technology and more. A document analysis, which prescribes the necessary tools, machinery and gadgets in workshops, is presented. In order to clear up the confusion in the legislation and the connection of the legislation with practice, an interview was carried out with the counsellor for Technology at Slovenia's ministry for education. In the empirical part, a research was carried out that focused on spatial conditions in classrooms for Technology, their level of equipment and the satisfaction of the teachers of this subject with the current state in the classrooms. The data was gathered with the help of an online questionnaire sample that included 128 teachers of Technology from all over Slovenia. The analysis of the gathered data has shown a great gap in the standards for spatial conditions and recommendations for the level of equipment in these classrooms with the actual state of the classrooms for Technology. Only a small share of teachers estimates their current state of the classroom as adequate and good. The myth that most teachers manage to appropriately equip the classroom over the years, is not true, at least not for teachers of Technology. Based on the theoretical starting points and the research in the empirical part, one can only suggest an update and unification of the valid documents in order to effectively improve the situation. Within these, the minimal demands for tools, machinery, equipment, teaching aids and gadgets, which must be situated in all classrooms for Technology, have to be clearly defined. On the basis of a unified legislation, regular inspections should be carried out, which will check the conditions of a classroom from the perspective of equipment, suitable ergonomics, safety and other valid standards. |
