Abstract

Secondary title: ADAS models with avl software tools - energy consumption optimization
Secondary abstract: In this thesis, the simulation model of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in AVL software tools is presented. For a system of three vehicles driving in a convoy, a simulation model was developed in which the leading vehicle will follow the given velocity profile, the second vehicle in the convoy follows the leading vehicle, while the third vehicle in the convoy follows the second vehicle. In addition to maintaining the desired velocity, vehicles must maintain a prescribed distance between them, which is important for monitoring the impact of air resistance on the convoy, and thus the effects on the energy consumption. Three types of vehicles have been simulated and conclusions are derivated how vehicles respond in terms of fuel or energy consumption as well as of safety.
