Abstract

Secondary title: Usage of mimicry interjections for objects denomination in the first age range
Secondary abstract: Speech is a part of the means of communication and an essential function which enables people to interact as social beings. Human beings differ from other living creatures because of language development phases. Children use it to establish contacts with adults. Moreover, speech and cognitive functions are strongly intertwined. Speech development follows a specific sequence or various stages, which cannot be skipped, and often appears simultaneously with other developmental areas. The main aim of the thesis Usage of mimicry interjections for objects denomination in the First Age Range was to research average usage of interjections in the early developmental period of children's speech. The focus was on the period between the first and third year or age. The theoretical part includes additional explanations of speech development, its phases, and the main connection with cognitive functions. Furthermore, a stimulating role of an educator is established, focusing on the speech development factors. We added additional descriptions of a specific type of imitative interjections. In the empirical part, the method of practical work with pictures and images was used. Image-based testing was performed twice. Based on the result interpretation, we determined frequency of the mimicry interjections which refer to the object denomination. In addition, four hypotheses were confirmed. The main findings showed a common usage of interjections among children in the first age group. Moreover, the usage is more common among the group of children of the first age range compared with older children between the first and the second age period.
