Abstract

Avtor prispevka se ob krovni temi jubilejnega 50. seminarja slovenskega jezika, literature in kulture posveča vprašanju, kakšna prihodnost se obeta slovenistiki na Univerzi Karla in Franca v Gradcu, zibelki univerzitetne in znanstvene slovenistike, kjer je bila po zaslugi dekana Gernota Kocherja pred štirimi leti ustanovljena prva in edina profesura za slovenščino v Avstriji. Graško slovenstiko ter njene razvojne perspektive osvetljuje s strukturnega, znanstvenoraziskovalnega in študijskega vidika ter glede na položaj slovenščine v Gradcu in na Štajerskem.

Secondary abstract: The paper focuses on the future of Slovene Studies within the Department of Slavic Studies at Karl-Franzens University in Graz, the cradle of Slovene Studies. It is to the merit of Gerhard Kocher, former dean of the faculty of arts, that four years ago the University of Graz established the first and only chair of Slovene in Austria. Slovene Studies in Graz is highlighted from a structural, academic and study programme point of view, and with regard to the status of the Slovene language in Graz as well as in Styria.
